Ed Mitchell emerged from the Priory this week pledging to rebuild his life after his alcoholism left him homeless.

Mr Mitchell once commanded a seven-figure salary but his drink problem wrecked his career and saw him run up huge debts.

Eventually he lost his home, his family and ended up sleeping rough.

"This time I do believe rehab has worked," he told the BBC after leaving the west London clinic. "I don't feel the need to drink."

Mr Mitchell gave an interview to the Mail on Sunday recently and said seeing his problems in print forced him to seek help.

While he remains separated from his wife, he hopes that by staying sober he can have a role in the lives of his two children.
