Article: Lohan completes residential alcohol treatment
Lindsay Lohan has left a Malibu treatment centre following more than six weeks undergoing alcohol treatment.
The actress spent 45 days of residential and extended care treatment at the centre, her rep Leslie Sloane Zelnik revealed in a statement to People.com.
"She has transitioned to an intensive outpatient programme, which includes attendance at daily AA meetings, outpatient therapy and daily testing," the statement said.
In addition, it has emerged that Lindsay has chosen to wear an alcohol monitoring bracelet so that there are "no questions about her sobriety if she chooses to go dancing or dining in a place where alcohol is served".
The rep also commented: "She's doing great. Lindsay is working hard on her sobriety and we are all supporting her."
The actress is one many celebrities who have chosen to seek alcohol treatment and take some time away from their hectic party lifestyle in order to recuperate.
Seeking professional help ensures the highest chance of sustained sobriety, although recovery from alcoholism is a lifelong process.
